Eating out is fabulous..

More on food soon...
for now just pictures...

Raymond

Everybody loves Raymond, because he is just so cute, even though he can be bad sometimes I will always love him. My little brother can be tons of fun. I took Raymond and Ross out by an overlook to take some pictures, they are a bit old, but I think he deserves the spotlight!

Ross is sick

So I made him homemade Chicken soup. It was wonderful and even made me feel better, and I wasn't sick!

Hollandaise Sauce, Asparagus, & Chicken... yumm

A few nights ago I made a delicious three course meal, which has become one of my favorites and I plan on bringing back this recipe again.

First you want to gather all the food for your cooking, this makes it less hectic and cluttered later.

And always have a good cutting board and knife:

Don't forget the cookbook!

Hollandaise sauce is delicious and can become quite easy and foolproof if you make it using a blender.

First you get three eggs together:

Then you get the blender and add pepper and 1tb of Lemon Juice:

And of course Butter!

Blend the eggs together
Now you heat the butter very hot, and while the blender is going (make sure to keep the the lid on, with a small opening in the middle) add small amounts of the butter and it should thicken to make the sauce.

While I was doing this I was boiling water, oil, and salt for the Asparagus.

Once the Asparagus is done, you have your first course.

For the side I made prosciutto on hard rolls topped with cheddar cheese. I put them in the oven for ten minutes to let the prosciutto crisp.

Next I started the paprika base for the onions, On the side I also started the cream sauce that I put over the Chicken to contrast the paprika flavor.

Photobucket

The paprika base included Butter, onion, paprika and pepper. I let that simmer for a 8-10 minutes.

The cream sauce has
1/4 cup white stock
1/4 white wine
1 cup whipping Cream
Salt& pepper
Lemon Juice& Parsley to taste.

Step One
Boil down stock and wine

Step Two
Add cream and continue to simmer until it thickens a bit.

Then I put the paprika mix and the chicken on the stove for a minute or two and then in the oven for 15-20 minutes at 400 degrees.
Photobucket

I also made rice that I seasoned with shallots and onion.

Viola! The finished product

Part 2, after tasting, quite yummm...

Cooking

Food is an interesting thing, we spend our whole lives eating it, it sustains life, and yet I know I have spent some money on some really awful meals. Places like McDonalds may have value for some, but fast food makes me sick these days. I don't want to spend my money on forgetful or even worse, unsavory food. This is why I have decided to take on cooking. I love to be around the food, learning all its subtleties and intricacies. And I love preparing one thing a million different ways.
I have bought Julia Child's cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking, so most of the recipes will be from there, although some will be my own, America's Test Kitchen, or from the Food Channel!

Baking some delicious cookies. I love chocolate-chip, there is something simple and delicious in a bite full of sugar and chocolate chips.

This is a Cream and Mushroom sauce with roasted chicken Breast. This was incredibly simple and delicious. Don't forget: Never crowd the mushrooms!

Photobucket

This was a simple Roast with a potato casserole It was perfectly fluffy. The meat was very tender, though I think leaving some salt overnight would add to the flavor and lock in the juices. I also cooked it a bit more because Ross likes it that way, but I prefer mine medium, medium rare.

Chocolate love!
I love whole foods. They have the best selection of chocolate, and I love the service, you can always have a sample which is great because they have so many different kinds.

Nightlife/Style

On Thursday night I went out with some friends, it was a good time, we ended up sneaking into the VIP section on the roof. There was a nice breeze and a great view. We then decided to go to this club where they had sharks underneath the dance floor. The place was really cool though the crowd was laughable. The girls all had the same butt shaking moves and there was a couple who fell on the floor.. good times.
